Samba Treks has chosen Stella Maris Lodge for our clients’
lodging before and after their Mt. Kilimanjaro climb. Like our company, Stella
Maris Lodge is a social enterprise, committed to helping local Tanzanians. This
unique lodge, built in 2012, channels all of its profits directly to the
adjacent Stella Maris English-Medium Primary School, which educates and feeds poor,
orphaned, and at-risk children in the Mt. Kilimanjaro region. Those who book
with Samba Treks will have the privilege of staying in this lovely lodge and directly
helping these children.
Stella Maris Lodge is conveniently located 25 minutes from Kilimanjaro International
Airport (JRO), in the peaceful village of Mailisita (just outside of Moshi). All
rooms enjoy balcony views of Mt. Kilimanjaro, air conditioning, satellite TVs,
and free WiFi service. However, if you wish to stay in the center of the town of Moshi, we can arrange that for you as well.
For guests wishing to stay in the town of Arusha, Samba Treks has chosen Planet Lodge. This hotel, featuring 14 rustic chalets reminiscent of a native African village, is located just 10 minutes from the center of Arusha. A free shuttle service to the center of town is available for guests.
